Every once in a while we encounter a story which lifts our spirits and touches our hearts. The life of Sydney Gran, the lessons she taught us and the faith of her parents, Coach Eddie Gran and his wife Rosemary, is just such a story.
We are asking for your help today in telling the story of Sydney Gran through the release of an upcoming book, Sydney’s Story, written by award-winning Huntsville Times journalist Phillip Marshall.
Many within the Auburn family already know Sydney’s story. Born with a condition which never allowed her to walk, speak or function like other children, Sydney defied all odds and lived for almost six years. Sydney passed away in late 2005.
This powerful testament to faith, football and a family’s love captivated Marshall. A 38 year veteran of covering Alabama sports, Marshall’s soon-to-be-released book is a tale of how one little girl would capture the hearts of an entire football nation while forever touching the lives of players, fans and Auburn faithful.
All proceeds from the sale of Sydney’s Story will benefit the Sydney Gran Foundation. Your tax-deductible gift of $250 or more ensures that Sydney’s legacy will live on through the lives of families touched by the foundation that bears her name.
Gifts must be received by March 7th in order to be recognized as a supporting sponsor in the book.
